Grants in Action... 2003-2004

The Community Foundation Board of Directors, having designated underserved local scholarship areas as the focus area for 2003-2004, distributed $11,500 to regional institutions of higher education.  Funds are from the Alper Family Fund, Codington Memorial Fund, Lucille Murchison Marvin Fund, and the Community Foundation Fund.

Education Projects - Total $11,500 

UNCWilmington - Watson School of Education for students returning to school to achieve their NC teaching certificate - $2,300

The following schools are receiving grants to fill in the gap for their under-served certificate program scholarship areas:

Cape Fear Community College - $3,500

Brunswick Community College - $2,600

Southeastern Community College - $2,100

Bladen Community College - $1,000
